"Kitty got crack, and he don't care..."

The gym in the morning is not usually something I'm into. But when a busy week of grandmothers and volunteering and parental trips to Panama call, running is not my priority. So when always smiley, happy Nina (of Nina's Bistro and Wine Bar fame...) asked me to go with her on Tuesday morning, I stepped to the challenge.

7:00 a.m. is an interesting time at the YMCA. Mostly old chicks in large bathing suits. The occasional young professional getting sweaty before work. But the relief of leaving work at night and thinking "I should go for a run..." and then realizing... "Ooo. Wait... I've already been for a run..." was phenomenal.

In other news, I'm offish detoxing Bert. The laser pointer has become the cat equivalent of crack, and I can no longer enable his addiction. Catnip is one thing, but laser crack is unacceptable in the Library Lady household.

Our girls would paw at the drawer where we kept the laser pointer. It was insane. Eventually we got one of those things that automatically does laser pointer, so we could live our lives, but they didn't like it as much. Cold turkey is best.
